RM of North Qu'Appelle’s story
The Rural Municipality of North Qu'Appelle No. 187 incorporated as a rural municipality on December 12, 1910. It lies in the south-east part of Saskatchewan, and its office is in Fort Qu'Appelle.
The Qu'Appelle River runs through the heart of the municipality, and along this stretch are the four Fishing Lakes: Pasqua, Echo, Mission and Katepwa. Lake Muscowpetung, at the western end of the RM, is sometimes counted as a fifth. The town of Fort Qu'Appelle and the village of Lebret are surrounded by the RM, along with the resort villages of B-Say-Tah, Fort San and Pasqua Lake. Taylor Beach is an organized hamlet, and Katepwa South, Muscow and Lake View Beach are localities. Several First Nations reserves lie next to the municipality.
Today the RM is run by an elected council and an appointed administrator. For recreation, it is home to the Mission Ridge Winter Park.
